Meet the Presenters
Alba Carollo, Head of School, Ambatovy International School
Teaching online since February 2020
Alba has 27 years of progressive experience, and she is grounded in a belief that schools today need to prepare students to live and work with people whose ideas, perspectives, and values are different from their own. It is this passion that has led her to leadership roles as a PreK-Grade 8 principal, a PYP Principal (Nursery-G5), MYP Principal, middle school principal, and university instructor and researcher.
Currently, she is Head of School at Ambatovy International School having left her most recent post as middle school principal at the American Community School of Abu Dhabi in 2019. Alba holds a Lehigh University Master’s of Educational Leadership, a K-12 Administration certificate from Pennsylvania, and a PA Superintendent Letter of Eligibility.
Liz Cho, Principal of Teaching and Learning, Korea International School (KIS)
Educator since 2003, Liz Cho is passionate about empowering teachers and students. Liz has taken on various leadership roles in education, and she is currently the Principal of Teaching and Learning at KIS. Liz’s 13 years as a U.S. public school and an international school teacher before moving into administration full time in 2016 has taught her the value of a competent, empathic leader who models lifelong learning. Certified in Educational Technology and an Apple Distinguished Educator, Liz is an avid believer in using innovative techniques to inspire educators through servant leadership.
John Maguire, Executive Headmaster, The British School of Bahrain
John joined the British School of Bahrain (BSB) in January 2020. BSB is a co-educational K-12 school of 3025 students which prides itself on academic excellence within a nurturing pastoral environment.
John is also an ISI inspector and an international inspector for a UK based school group, inspecting schools in South Korea and Dubai.
Previously John was the Senior Deputy Head at Haberdashers’ Aske’s Boys’ School in North London, which was voted the No.1 school in the UK in 2017. John is passionate about professional development and innovation, especially through learning from schools around the globe.
Nadine Richards, Principal, American School of Dubai (ASD)
A visionary, forward-thinking, and courageous leader, Nadine empowers the entire learning ecosystem to transform and grow. An educator since 2000, Nadine holds teaching, principal and superintendent certifications from NYS (USA). She has served as a teacher, dean, head of school, and is currently the HS Principal at ASD. Nadine is a life-long learner with an entrepreneurship mindset that values inclusivity, diversity and equity. Nadine is known as a servant and strategic leader who actions innovation not just ideates it. Her infectious smile personifies her passion – to serve, lift and empower!
Tara Waudby, Head of School, Riffa Views International School
Compassion Elevates Innovation. Passionate about innovation in education, Tara is committed to increasing meaning and relevance in schools. Tara is co-founder of the Compassion Summit, a global movement committed to building a coalition of compassionate schools. A TCK herself, Tara began her teaching career in Arizona before moving into international education where she has spent 20+ years in Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Taiwan. Tara holds an MA in Educational Leadership, an MFA in Poetry, and two graduate certificates in educational technology and future-driven schooling. She has volunteered for ISTE as the chair-elect of the Digital Storytelling Network, for NESA as a PDAC member and for COETAIL as a coach.
